The Beauty of Simple
I’m a fan of Simon Sinek, primarily because he has made a massive impact by keeping things incredibly simple. Although he can sometimes come across as too simplistic, it’s then your role as a leader to apply his ideas to your context.
His Golden Circle concept is brilliant in its simplicity and an inspiration for many purpose-driven companies. Starting with Why has become common knowledge in the leadership development jungle.
When you examine the concept more closely, you may be amazed at its simplicity. Like so many things in life, you could ask yourself, “Why did I not think of that?”
Another perfect example of simplicity is Barnett Newman’s painting “Who’s afraid of red, yellow, and blue?” It features a lot of red, bordered by a thin blue line and an even thinner yellow line.
My point?
We, human beings, are attracted to simplicity.
We like it when people keep things simple. It’s the success of many politicians, business executives, and companies with simple and understandable messages. Which they keep repeating over and over again.
Examples:
- I have a dream
- Yes, we can
- Think different
- Just do it
